Mars in Aries 2026: The Transit That Changes Trajectory.

The Alternate Perspective

Astrology is a mirror of life. Your astrology chart is a mirror of your personal energies. Is it a perfect reflection? Of course not — it’s like looking into a slightly cloudy pond. You see your face, but maybe not your freckles. Astrology is not a genie or a magic 8 ball. You still have to put in the work, make decisions, and use your freekan free will.

With that disclaimer - here is my interpretation of Mars in Aries 2026:

Mars in Aries Overview

Mars represents:

Movement

Initiation

Aggression

Mars wants motion and results – immediately.

Aries represents:

Reaction

Drive

Instinct

Warrior spirit

Initiative

Unapologetic

This is raw, instinctive energy.

The planet Mars rules the sign of Aries and they are very similar. Like a fish being home in water or a camel being home in the desert, Mars thrives in the sign of Aries because they share similar values and characteristics. Mars is the homeowner, Aries is the home, and who doesn’t love home? Mars visits the sign of Aries every two years, and it loves to be here in its own bed. It recharges and refreshes, has all the things it likes here to recalibrate before heading back out over the next two years. It moves through the other signs, meeting different planets and points, interacting on unfamiliar turf, just trying to do its thing until it eventually makes its way back home.

So now that Mars is back home, what has changed? How do you initiate in your world differently now? What have you been doing since March of 2024? What new paths have you blazed in your life? How have you reacted to new experiences? Where did you place your raw energy? In the 3 weeks leading up to April 9th, have you let go of plans or desires that proved to be useless in the last two years to make way for something new?

Mars moved through Aries relatively unimpeded last year, which basically gave us the energy of an Independence Day sparkler. Burning quickly, sparking everywhere until it eventually burns down to the bottom with only enough energy to light the next sparkler, but this year is different. This year Mars has company that changes how it uses those sparks.

Saturn and Neptune Visit with Mars in Aries

This year Mars has come home to Aries and its in-laws - Saturn and Neptune are there. Mars has come home to charge up, but Saturn and Neptune have hidden the charging cord and the block. Here’s a practical example:

You think, “ok I want to make a million dollars this year” — then you’re like boom, ok, I’m going to start day trading. This is the Mars spark.

You log on and you’re immediately confused. What is this software? What are these numbers? What’s going on?

That is Neptune — confusion.

Or you might get started and have a lucky streak that convinces you that you know what you’re doing even though you are just clicking anything. Then you start losing money, realize you’re confused, and that’s when you go to YouTube to get some perspective.

That is Saturn – limitation. Specifically lack of knowledge and experience.

Or you have a lot of ideas to make money, but you don’t know which one is going to work, so confusion ensues (Neptune), and some naturally fall away because they are not sustainable (Saturn).

Saturn in Aries and How It Affects the Mars Transit Obstacles

Saturn represents:

Reality

Discipline

Opposition

Structure

Restraint

Responsibility

Pressure

Consistency

Mars Meeting Saturn

When Mars meets Saturn, it’s like a bullet hitting a wall.

Depending on the bullet, it may press on, but eventually it will be stopped or find a way out at a reduced speed. The wall may be drywall, wood, brick, construction paper, a body, a bone — either way, it’s going to alter the trajectory and velocity of that bullet. Mars is the bullet, Aries is the gun, in Aries Mars is moving fast with little awareness of circumstances or consequences.

But Saturn is reality. Sharp awareness of limitations and boundaries.

So, when Mars meets Saturn in Aries, the spark of energy is tempered and prepared for the long haul. It is slowed down and made to move with intention. One could compare it to grilling. When you add fresh charcoal or wood chips, it initially smothers the flames. But once it settles, it becomes fuel—giving you steady heat to cook chicken breasts and steaks after that first quick burst of high heat.

Previous Mars–Saturn Meeting

The last time Mars met Saturn, it was in the sign of Pisces — where things go to transition into the next phase. Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac and represents ending, transitions, spirituality and releasing. Pisces is about dissolving — like when a body is dropped into the river on Law & Order. The water breaks it down over time, and you’re left hoping there’s still enough left to figure out what actually happened.

Mars coming to the end of its journey through the zodiac and meeting Saturn in the last sign of Pisces is like taking a shower after leaving the pool. Or agitating the charcoal on a grill, adding a little lighter fluid so you can see what areas are viable for cooking or if you

can even grill anything else without starting the grill from scratch.

(Full disclosure — I am not a grill master.)

It’s not as horrible as it sounds. Mars meeting Saturn in Pisces provided the opportunity to drop things that were taking too much energy and not producing results. And at the end of the zodiac, after not meeting there for 36 years, these are the embedded energy drains that were affecting you for a long time. Like trying to please your parents, or over-investing in your children, or a battle with your childhood trauma, or even just self-acceptance after years of internal turmoil.

Neptune in Aries and How It Affects the Mars Transit

Neptune represents:

Confusion

Lack of Clarity

A Feeling

Potential

Unrealistic Expectations

Porous/Unstable

Abstraction

Illusion/Delusion

Mars here burns out pretty easily because it is just a spark. It doesn’t have the sustainable life force to consistently drive forward for long distances and Neptune reduces clarity. You may think you’re moving forward, only for the fog to lift and you find out you missed your exit 20 miles ago, and now you don’t have the fuel to make it to your destination.

Neptune is confusion. It will have you going in circles chasing a fantasy until you burn out.

But luckily, everything is always moving forward — there is no going back — so this fog too shall pass. The key is to move cautiously, but keep moving, and protect your energy. Neptune is a dream. Mars is action and movement. The positive side of Neptune meeting Mars in Aries is that the Martian energy has to slow down and gain awareness, and that awareness can lead the Mars energy closer to achieving a goal bigger than its original intention.

Shaping the Journey for You

Aries moves into Mars every two years. It is home. It loves to be here in its own bed. It recharges, refreshes, and has all the things it likes here. It recalibrates before going back out over the next two years through all the other signs, meeting all these other planets and points on unfamiliar turf, just trying to do its thing and eventually get back home.

This is the first time Mars is meeting Saturn in Aries in over 35 years. Saturn hasn’t been to Mars’s house for 36 years, and now it’s here — and Mars is coming back. Neptune hasn’t been here for 165 years. Everyone on Earth is experiencing this transit for the first time.

You aren’t the same as you were 36 years ago, and you’ve never had Neptune in Aries.

This is the start of a new Mars journey. Your effort is going to be tested in new ways.

What will you do with the energy you retrieved from unfruitful endeavors? In two years, when Mars comes back and Saturn is in the late degrees of Aries, how will your spark in life have refined?

When Mars met Saturn in Pisces two years ago, what energy drains did you begin to let go of?

A toxic relationship that took a lot of energy and didn’t move forward?

A career that didn’t fulfill you anymore and actively drained you?

Childhood trauma that has held you back from a goal?

A friendship that was misaligned and required more effort than you had to give?

In what ways are you going to use this new energy to do something you’ve never done — and possibly get something you’ve never had?

Whatever the case may be, Mars is back home again to provide a spark for you to start cooking some more shit. With Neptune and Saturn here, you have the opportunity to refine your spark before it leaves Aries — and in two years, when Mars comes back to charge up again, you can refine or change it further.

What This Means in Real Life

The last two years have been an energetic reset.

Neptune (dreams) and Saturn (reality) passed through Pisces — the last sign — and were cleaned, dissolved, and distilled down to their pure forms. Now they have moved into Aries, where they are starting over from scratch.

For us humans, this represents a clean slate to build our dreams and curate our realities.

Mars moving into Aries — the first sign of the zodiac — is the paintbrush being placed into our hands to start painting what we want our lives to look like. With Saturn and Neptune here, we will dream bigger and build our foundations deeper to support those bigger dreams. You wouldn’t build a dream home on a sandy beach. It would wash away with the first storm or high tide. You would dig deep and reinforce the foundation with concrete and steel — maybe even elevate it. That way, whether you want a 10‑bedroom glass and marble mansion on the beach, or a three‑bedroom beach house with seashells on the windows and a small kitchen, you can build it.

And maybe seven years later, you remodel — add big windows or a pool — because you have built the foundation to do so.

That is why I feel this transit will change trajectories. Aries is giving the Mars intention energy and bigger intentions that will lead to more consistent use of your energy and in turn, produce bigger results. Anyone can truly dream big and achieve it with this energy.
